Nightmare Gone Wrong
NIGHTMARE GONE WRONG
Laura was a pediatrician at her local children's hospital where she had worked there for most her working life. She earned for a different job but she thought given her age she's best off staying in the same career. She loved her job and thought she seen it all until one day a pale thin girl turned up in emergency.
Laura was called to come treat her as she was one of the best. Something terrible had happened to her as her health wasn't to what it should. After I.V drips were placed in her and fluids pumping, Laura noticed this girl from somewhere as this girl had a scar above her left eyebrow that wasn't hard to miss. Laura then realized this girl they were treating was not a child but a 30 year old lady she once went to school with.
Laura spoke to her supervisor that day and told them that the girl was no a minor but in fact a 30 year old. Papers were brought forward to this female and true enough, it was the 30 year old and she was transported to another local hospital where she could be treated appropriately.
Laura couldn't help but wonder how this lady became so fragile and small looking, so she went over to the hospital this lady was in. Laura sat there next to her looking at her wondering what could have happened, when a dr come in.
The dr was startled to see someone sitting next to her. He introduced himself as Dr Tim. He told Laura she was his patient at his private hospital down the road. She had wandered off while being under the influence of some heavy antibiotics.
Laura was taken back by the fact there was a private hospital down the road and asked if they were hiring any pediatricians? She told him she wanted a new environment and had never worked in a private sector before. He agreed but told her she must sign a contract before stepping a foot into his private hospital. She agreed as the salary was much more appealing then what she was currently receiving.
Laura signed the papers and notified the right people that she was quitting. Dr. Tim told Laura to come to work in 2 weeks time, as he only likes taking on a. Few clients at a time and most were about to be discharged, so when she can come to work, there will be new patients.
Rebecca Jones was in her mid 20's, and had an old fractured ankle due to a sporting incident. It never healed but seen an advert for free treatment as it was new and un-tested. At this point Rebecca just wanted her ankle fixed as the pain was too unbearable some days. She called the number and placed her name down on the call list.
... 2 weeks later...
Laura woke up extra early on Monday morning eager to start her new job. She left super early. Once she arrived, she seen a few staff members huddling around in the cold and introduced herself. They seemed friendly enough and wished her luck on her first day.
Dr Tim appeared from around the corner with his morning coffee in hand and unlocked the doors to let everyone in. Everyone signed in and went on about their day to set up. Dr. Tim explained this wasn't any ordinary hospital.
He explained they get a hand full of patients in and treat them for as long as it takes and when the last one leaves, they close the hospital for it to be cleaned top to toe and then they come back to work and get another hand full of patients in. Laura was all too excited to even ask questions and just went with it.
Later in the morning people started to come through. Dr.Tim was notified that one of the patients didn't show up so he asked Laura to choose someone on the call list to call in and offer their place. Laura choose Rebecca Jones.
Dr. Tim called Rebecca and asked for her to come in. She jumped up and told him she would be there soon. He assured her she might have to stay a few nights. She didn't mind as her injury stopped her from performing her job so she got fired. Laura was assigned Rebecca as her patient, even though Dr. Tim was the one who would treat them all.
Around lunch time Rebecca came in and informed the front desk she was there. She was asked to sit down and wait for a nurse to collect her. Laura then came to retrieve her. Rebecca was excited to finally have her ankle fixed.
Laura showed Rebecca to her room where she would be staying for the next few nights. It was a private room with a lovely view of the city. The floor was carpet and the room was inviting. Laura left Rebecca to settle in and closed Laura's door. 20 minutes later, Dr. Tim came in and told they would start treatment as fast as they could.
She was then taken to a room where it had a nurses desk with a computer and notes and files for observation and 3 patient beds. Rebecca was asked to lay down on one of the beds and elevate her leg with the sore ankle. A numbing agent was placed into her skin near her ankle and she lost all feeling of her ankle. Dr. Tim left and another nurse named Heidi came in with another 2 girl patients doing the same treatment.
Rebecca had dozed off and woke up feeling uncomfortable. Her ankle felt warm and wanted to ask the nurse if it was normal. Nurse Heidi wasn't in the room, but however these other 2 girls were. Their names were Amanda and Taylor.
It was there 2nd time visiting so they knew what was happening with the numbing agent and exactly what it was doing. They told Rebecca it was normal for the first time but eventually after a few days of doing it every day you don't feel a thing.
Amanda had a fractured wrist that never healed so she had the numbing in her hand and she was able to stand up and walk around the room while Taylor had one in her knees she too was bed bound. Rebecca looked at them, noticing they were wearing t-shirts but no pants. Upon further expectation she seen that both were wearing adult pull-ups.
She went into a little bit of shock, looked down and realized she wasn't wearing any. She asked the girls why they were. Amanda's face turned red with anger when she realized Rebecca wasn't wearing them. She stormed out of the room. Taylor laid there with a tear dropping down her face but refused to answer Rebecca.
Nurse Heidi walked in with Amanda, Amanda pointed to Rebecca's waist and demanded to know why her and Taylor had to wear them but Rebecca didn't. Nurse Heidi clicked her tongue a few times and assured Amanda it was a mistake on her behalf.
Nurse Heidi opened a cupboard door, and pulled out a pull up and a a few wipes from a bigger packet of them and handed them to Rebecca. Confused and nervous, Rebecca refused to take them from her hands. Nurse Heidi then called for Laura to come into the room, a few minutes passed and Laura come in.
Nurse Heidi told Laura the reason why Rebecca had to wear it and told Laura if she couldn't get Rebecca to willingly put them on, she will force them on her. Laura took the pull up and wipes from nurse Heidi and told her she would sort it. Rebecca laid on the bed and started to cry. Laura told her to close her eyes and it will all be done and over with in a matter of minutes.
Laura put a pull up on Rebecca and covered her over with a blanket. Laura didn't bother asking questions about the practices they had in place and went along with them. She knew she signed paper work so she kept quiet. Rebecca gained full feeling of her foot and was able to walk. She was told she was allowed to take the pull up off and head back to her room.
Patients who weren't contagious were able to socialize in a large living room setting or in rooms if they allowed the other person permission. Amanda told Taylor that they both were heading to Rebecca's room after dinner Dinner was served and Rebecca ate up. Feeling like she wanted to go home, she was unable to.
Amanda and Taylor came into Rebecca's room. Rebecca had so many questions and Amanda wasn't sure if she should answer them. Taylor on the other hand was. Rebecca asked why they had to wear the pull ups, Taylor told her it was in case they needed the bathroom.
Rebecca didn't buy it. Amanda was able to walk, it was just her hand, surely toileting would be something she could do but yet she was in one. All of a sudden, Dr. Tim came in and told Amanda and Taylor to leave. Laura walked shortly after and told Rebecca that she spoke to Dr. Tim about earlier with the pull up incident.
Dr. Tim was stern but friendly and told her she had to wear them because nurse Heidi is the only staff there in the area where they get treatment. If someone needs to go to the bathroom, as protocol she needs to supervise but also supervise the other patients. Rebecca was tearing up so he left Laura there to comfort her. Rebecca fell asleep and Laura left.
In the morning Rebecca was lead to the treatment room, and was asked to put the pull up on herself which she did and lay down. She got the numbing agent placed in her foot and started to read a magazine she brought with her.
Nurse Heidi came in with some beverages that all the girls had to take. Taylor started to cry knowing what it was going to do. She cried till she couldn't cry no more. Nurse Heidi's patience was wearing thin. She snapped after Taylor wet herself and made a mess on the floor. Taylor yelled at nurse Heidi saying "what did she expect after giving her urals".
Nurse Heidi called in another nurse to take Taylor away into a different room. A cleaner come in and cleaned the floor and bed. Rebecca felt the urge to go to the bathroom. She knew she had no choice but to use her pull up. Amanda whispered to her telling her it was best to release her pee slowly. It wasn't easy but Rebecca was able to let herself go without making a mess.
Rebecca wanted a new pull up but Amanda was quick to shush her and tell her don't ask, she will come in very soon because she can smell pee from a mile away. Nurse Heidi came in and did smell the pee they both had in there pull ups. She gave a pull up to Amanda with some wipes but with Rebecca, she told her that she needed a proper diaper.
Rebecca refused saying a pull up will do. But Dr. Tim come in and said he heard Rebecca refusing. He gave her a shot in her arm. Rebecca freaked out, she felt her energy draining away and slipped into a sleep.
Rebecca woke up to find herself in a large looking crib with tall bars all around her. She had a large diaper on and a short white nightie on. Her wrists felt weak and she struggled to hold onto the bars. She cried out to anyone that could hear. The room was semi dark and she knew she was in a large room.
All of a sudden she heard a faint noise behind her. She looked but couldn't see anything. It was Taylor who was behind her in a different crib. Taylor asked if it was Rebecca? Rebecca replied and said yes. They both cried.
Laura came into the room switching on the light. She looked down at her, Laura had changed from that sweet innocent person to someone who couldn't care of her patients were locked in a crib.
Nurse Heidi came in and let both Taylor and Rebecca out onto the floor. They were very lethargic and could barely stand. They both got picked up and led into a part of the hospital they never seen. They got put on a padded surface on the floor and had their diapers changed which were drenched in pee and poo.
Rebecca cried because she didn't realize she had even messed herself. Once a new diaper was on, she was given a pacifier. She got told that it detects when it leaves the mouth and she will have exactly 10 seconds to put it back in her mouth otherwise it will send off an alarm to the head nurses and they'd be punished severely.
It was nap time, Rebecca was picked up by Laura and they sat on a near by couch where a milk bottle was waiting. Rebecca tried to fight off the bottle but her limited energy couldn't stop it. The milk kept pouring into her mouth so she had no choice but to drink it.
She drank it all within a few minutes and was placed into a play pen with other patients who were being treated the same way. She was given a pillow and blanket and was told to put her pacifier in her mouth and fall asleep.
She was drained and fell asleep really quickly. Her pacifier fell out and the alarm went off. Laura was informed and she ran over to scold Rebecca but realized it fell out because Rebecca was still asleep.
Laura loved the look of Rebecca sleeping so she picked her up and nursed her on the couch, Rebecca never woke up during it. Laura was patting Rebecca's bottom while rocking her when Rebecca woke up. She was startled.
She had full energy and her wrists were in her full control. She pushed herself off Laura and pushed Laura by her shoulders. Laura became angry and got out a needle. Rebecca knew what it could do so she ran, it woke some of the others up and they all just looked at her running.
Rebecca somehow managed to escape the room and run into the corridors. She got to the main reception and tried exiting. Only to realize they were locked. No one was at the reception desk so Rebecca went over to find a hiding spot!
Rebecca was to big to hide near it but feared what could happen if they found her! She decided to surrender and laid on the floor. She cried, yelling out mommy, in hopes Laura would hear it and think she's calling out for her!
Laura and a few security guards found her, Laura scooped her up and whispered in Rebecca's ear, telling her she would regret doing that. It sent chills down Rebecca's back.
Rebecca was placed into a solitary room with only one crib in it. She was given a shot and the lights turned off. 2 weeks went by and the only contact she had was with Laura when her diaper was changed and was given just bottles of milk. Rebecca lost plenty of weight and had diaper rash.
Dr. Tim entered the room after 2 weeks asking Rebecca was she sorry. Rebecca had no energy to even speak, she felt like she was going crazy. Laura stood behind Dr. Tim with a smile on her face and fainted right on the spot.
Rebecca woke up to the sounds of machines beeping, and a nurse placing a new diaper on her. She gained full consciousness. She was in the children's ward at her old work. She had no energy and wasn't able to talk. Drs come rushing in at the news she was awake. They asked her for her name. She didn't respond.
They told her some man brought her in weak as he found her in an ally way. She didn't understand why she was in a children's hospital but soon enough the drugs took affect and she fell back to sleep.
She woke up the following day with a little more energy. She could speak. She tried telling them she used to work there. She remembered the stuff she done at the private hospital. The nurses giggled, they told her she was only just a child.
She was confused, she didn't know if what she experienced was a dream or not. Then a man walked through the doors of her room. It was Dr. Tim, he said "hello Rebecca do you remember me?"
