EDIT 8/20/14 - Story is complete.
A few words in advance….
This story is my own work, but it is based off some other stories I have read and enjoyed over the years.
I have a lot of stuff already written, but the story is not currently finished. I have meant to finish it, I have wanted to finish it, and I have even tried to finish it. But life always seems to get in the way. I’m hoping that maybe by posting it here, I will get up the motivation to finally see it to the end.
I suspect I have a number of formatting errors and stuff of that nature. I’m not particular;y strong when it comes to that kind of stuff.
Parts of this story have been posted on a webpage that I own. What I am posting here is both updated, edited, and at times, totally new and never before seen.
Thanks, and hope folks enjoy.

Re: The Trying Policy
Three days down four to go! Or does Friday not count since Julie started wearing on Friday?
Anyway, I got seriously freaked out when Julie started talking to Ms. Barnard. I thought Julie’s parents had scheduled a therapist/psychiatrist meeting for her without telling her, which would have been very insulting and underhanded. Glad that’s not what it turned out to be!
Still loving the story. I’m hooked!

Re: The Trying Policy
Two nitpicky things. The math teacher’s honorific is wrong in one spot: “when Mr. Niles looked up from her desk”, and counselor is the correct usage this context. Councilor would be (for example) a member of the city council.
That all said, this is a really difficult chapter to get right. Ms Barnard asks several questions up front before stating what she knows, and it seems like the kind of fishing I’d expect. She never states suspicions or possibilities of what she’s asking about, arguably not wanting to lead Julie’s answers or implant a false memory or anything, but also leaving that open for the reader to fill in. Nice job.

Re: The Trying Policy
Keep it going!

Re: The Trying Policy
It’s going good, the pacing is starting to improve. Take it slower though, the counselor scene was well done but you’ve been rushing some chapters. You only have a week to work with (unless something changes that) so it’s really important not to rush.
I’d also like to see more character interaction above all else, it can really help a story and characterization.
By all means you can keep going as you are and I’d be perfectly satisfied, so you don’t have to take my advice. But it never hurts to try and practice.
Keep it up.

Re: The Trying Policy
More more more hehe really enjoying this story keep up the good work

Please keep this story active. I have been following it and hope it doesn’t stop where you have left us hanging.

Re: The Trying Policy
Sorry for the delay, real life stuff has been taking up a lot of my free time. Also thanks for the feedback.

Re: The Trying Policy
TUESDAY
Tuesday started out just like any other day, except for a wet diaper in the night that got changed after breakfast. Julie went to school and sat through her classes just like she had the week before. Just after lunch however, Julie soon found herself in another wet diaper and knew she needed to make a stop in Ms. Barnard’s office. She was again in Ms. Niles class and since she was already done with the assignment it seemed like as good a time as any to make a run over there. Plus most folks were still working quietly on the problems. She quietly walked to the front of the room and the teachers desk.
“Ms. Niles, can I have the hall pass again?”
Ms. Niles looked up and then nodded her head. She grabbed the hall pass, an old eraser with the word Hall Pass taped to it, and handed it to Julie. Julie slipped out the door as quietly as she could. But she did see a couple of heads look up from their work to see her go. Her heart raced for a few seconds, until she told herself ‘people take the hall pass all the time. I used to take the hall pass sometimes, so this isn’t anything new or crazy.’ She quickly walked her way to Ms. Barnard’s door.
Julie quickly arrived and tried the handle, but of course it was locked. She then knocked a few times, but the door opened before she even finished. Ms. Barnard looked down at her and then closed one eye and stared at the ceiling with the other.
“Don’t tell me…” she said “Julie, right?”
“Yea, you got it.” Julie replied with a smile. She was impressed that Ms. Barnard remembered her name.
“Well, come in, come in.” She closed the door behind her. “I’m guessing you need to be changed?”
Ms. Barnard didn’t beat around the bush apparently. And while Julie wasn’t exactly surprised by the statement, the whole idea of going to some stranger and knowing that they were about to change your diaper was still far from normal.
“Uh, yea.” Julie replied somewhat uncomfortably.
“Well, no time like the present right?” Ms. Barnard disappeared into the back room. She came out holding a diaper that look familiar to Julie. “Oh, and your mom dropped off a bunch of diapers so we can use these. I like these a lot better than the one I had to use yesterday. Trust me, you don’t want to have to wear cheap flimsy diapers. Well, go ahead and lay down on the bed and let’s get this taken care of shall we?”
Julie was back in math class in hardly any more time than it would have taken if she had gone to the bathroom herself. The rest of the day went by somewhat slowly. She managed to stay dry until just before school was let out and then ended up wetting herself again on the way home, which she decided was fine since her mom would be home and would probably be checking her pretty much as soon as she walked in the door.
When Julie did walk in the front door, she said hello. A reply ‘hello’ came from the kitchen area. The sound of a knife chopping something on a cutting board told her that mom was working on dinner. Julie decided to just head upstairs and ditch her pants, since mom was likely to ask her to do so anyhow. While she was at it, she switched out her top and put on tee shirt. A quick glance in the mirror showed what was slowly turning into her normal look, socks, a tee shirt (blue in this case) and a diaper on the bottom. ‘How weird is it that this is starting to look normal’ Julie thought to herself, although after a few moments of inspection, she was still convinced the diaper made her butt look big.
Julie headed down to the kitchen figuring that was a sure fire way to get her wet diaper checked, and thus get changed. Her mom was in fact working on dinner and seemed to still be cutting veggies on the counter when she walked in.
“Hi mom.”
“Hello sweetie how was your day?” Sally said as she walked over and gave Julie a quick no handed hug. She obviously didn’t want to get whatever was on her hands on Julie’s shirt. But using her wrists she turned Julie around (it helped Julie knew what she was doing) and then examined her daughters diaper.
“Mmm, yup looks like you are wet. Well, I’m in the middle of getting dinner ready, so that diaper is gonna have to wait a bit. I don’t want to have to wash up again since I just did it. I’ll change you once I get this in the oven though.”
Julie was about to say something about that being fine. The diaper wasn’t completely soaked and would certainly last a few minutes until her mom was done. But before she could say anything a new voice, from the other side of the kitchen, spoke up.
“Sally, if you want I could change her.”
The very first thing that came to Julie’s mind was that the voice was not her dad. It wasn’t even male. But it was very familiar and a heartbeat later Julie recognized it. She knew who it belonged to even before she looked up and saw Becky’s mom, Beth Oakman, sitting at the table looking at her and her mom.
“Actually Beth, if you don’t mind that would be great. It’s not a big job if you know what I mean.” Sally paused and then looked at Julie.
Julie was stunned. She wasn’t afraid, or mortified, or embarrassed. At least not yet. Things just had happened too fast for any feelings like that to set in. That Mrs. Oakman was over here wasn’t a shock. Her mom and Becky’s mom were friends and often hung out together while the kids were at school. But it was not at all lost on Julie that she was standing in the kitchen wearing a clearly visible diaper, and her mom had just said, out loud, that she needed to be changed. And Ms. Oakman had just offered to change her like it wasn’t a big deal. Come to think of it, why wasn’t Ms. Oakman shocked, or at least a bit surprised?
While Julie was thinking about all of this, Sally eventually gave up on Julie doing whatever it was that she had thought she might do. “Beth, everything is upstairs. Julie can show you. And thanks, I wouldn’t have thought to ask, but…”
“Sally, its not like this is the first time.” Beth said with a smile and a slight nod of the head. With that she stood up and walked over to Julie, who was still slowly processing what had just happened. Mrs. Oakman paused and looked at Julie briefly and then said “Sooo, where is everything?”
“In my room.” Julie finally managed and then turned and started walking to the stairs.
Things would have been very different if Julie didn’t already think of Mrs. Oakman as practically a second mom. Apparently, she and her mom had been friends since before she was born. It seemed like for the last 5 years or so she spent nearly as much time at the Oakman’s house as she did her own. Julie had grown up with them and pretty much thought of them as family. She knew that Mrs. Oakman had said ‘It’s not like this is the first time’ because it wasn’t the first time she had changed her diaper. Julie had always felt that Mrs. Oakman really cared about her. She was always asking her about what was going on in her life, who was dating who and anything else she could think of. In fact, it seemed like Mrs. Oakman liked to specifically ask her for somewhat personal details, or at least embarrassing questions. And whenever Julie would get slightly embarrassed, or try to avoid answer a questions, she would always say, ‘Julie, for crying out loud, I changed your diapers when you were a kid, so just tell me and stop acting embarrassed already.’ Well, that funny little phrase just took on a whole different meaning.
Despite all that, Julie first thought when she had heard her mom accepts Mrs. Oakman’s offer was that this was just too much. But then a though popped into her head. ‘If some stranger at school can change my diapers and it’s not a big deal, why would having Mrs. Oakman do it be any different?’ And the whole point of the trying policy was to get use to wearing diapers, and that meant having Mrs. Oakman change her diapers again, well I guess that was part of the deal. So Julie decided that she wasn’t going to make a big deal out of this. If her mom was OK with it, then that was fine.
Julie lead Mrs. Oakman upstairs and into her room. As they entered, Mrs. Oakman spotted the changing table and all the diapers and supplies.
“Wow, look at all this. This is quite a set up here. Your mom really went all out didn’t she?”
“Yea, she usually does.” Julie replied. Then a thought occurred to her. Without thinking about it, she asked, “Mrs. Oakman, you didn’t seem really surprised about me wearing diapers. Did you already know or something?”
“Your mom told me, so yea I already knew.” She replied.
Julie asked the question she had really been wondering about. “Does Becky know?”
“I was going to ask you that actually.” Mrs. Oakman replied with an inquiring stare.
“I haven’t said anything to her. But I don’t know if she saw something or was able to tell on her own.”
“Are you going to tell her?”
“I don’t know…”
“Well, I don’t see how you are going to be able to not tell her eventually. I mean, what are you going the next time you spend the night? Or if your diaper needs to be changed when you are at our house?”
Those were really good questions Julie knew. She hadn’t really given it much thought and hadn’t thought about what would happen if she was over at Becky’s and had an accident. The last time it had happened she just had come home. But she recalled that Becky had sensed something was odd. Becky was too smart for her to be able to pull that off too many times.
But to answer Mrs. Oakman’s question was another story. Julie wasn’t sure what to say because she didn’t know exactly what her mom had told Mrs. Oakman. Did she tell her everything? Did she know this was only for a few more days? “What exactly did my mom tell you anyhow?” she asked.
Beth thought back to the conversation she had had just a few hours ago.
“So I get to the mechanic and he tells me the car is all ready to go. I pay him and he gives me the keys. I get in the car, turn the key, and nothing.”
“Ugh” Sally replied as she sipped her tea.
“Yea, no kidding” Beth replied. “You are not going to believe this. It turns out they fixed the wrong car. I’m not making this up. That is what they told me. So its been in the shop for 3 days now, and they have done nothing. They promised it will be ready tomorrow, and I think they were so embarrassed about the whole thing that they might actually do it this time.”
“There are few things I hate more than the car shop.” Sally said with a shake of her head.
“That makes two of us hon. So anyways, that’s the whole story. What’s going on over in your neck of the woods?”
Sally raised her eyebrows and tilter her head to the side and took a sip of tea. "Speaking of things you are not going to believe, guess who is wearing diapers these days?
“Did you say diapers?” Sally nodded her head. " Wait are you serious?" Sally slowly nodded her head once again and made it clear she was waiting for a guess. “You?”
“Ha, that’s funny. No, Julie.”
“Oh my gosh, really? Is she ok? What happened?”
“Well, most importantly, yes she is fine. Honestly I’m not sure exactly what, if anything happened. I don’t really totally understand it and we don’t know if this is just a temporary thing or what. But she is in diapers full time right now.”
“Full time?”
“Yea, as in not potty trained. At all.”
“Wow. When did this all start?”
“Last Friday.”
“How is she handling it? How are you handling it?”
“Truth be told, Julie seems to be fine with it as far as I can tell. At least so far. The good news is that going back to diapers was actually her idea, so it’s not like we had to convince her or make her do it.”
“Well that’s good. Trying to convince a 15 year old girl to do much of anything is hard enough. I can’t imagine telling one they have to start wearing diapers would go over well.”
“Yea, you got that right. Anyways, as for Ted and I, well, it’s taking a bit of time to get used to changing diapers again. But at the end of the day… well I’m sure you remember, it’s just one of those things you do. It’s not that big of a deal really.”
“Wow, I’m glad to hear that you all are handling it so well. What are you doing about school?”
“Oh, I called them and she just goes to the nurse now when she needs to. I had to drop off a bunch diapers for them to use but other than that it hasn’t been a big deal so far. But yea, Ted and I are back on diaper duty. I really thought I wasn’t going to ever have to deal with that again.”
“Is she not able to change herself then?”
“Well, not yet at least. It’s all so new that that might be too much to ask just now, so we haven’t had her try yet.”
“Well, if this keeps up for any length of time you might need to bring some diapers over to my house. I don’t think I have any diapers and even if I did I can’t imagine they would fit.”
“That is actually a good idea. I didn’t think about it but she may end up needing to be changed when she is over there at some point.”
“Well, it wouldn’t be the first time.”
Beth came back to the room from her memory and looked at Julie. “Well, she told me that you had started wearing diapers again.”
“And? I mean, is that all she said?”
“Well she pretty much said you were basically not potty trained and that her and your dad were back on diaper duty.”
Julie didn’t know what details her mom had said, or if she had said anything about the trying policy. But she also realized that if she asked Mrs. Oakman about that, it would raise suspicion. She decided to just go with it. ‘I’ll ask mom later’ she told herself (and then quickly forgot about it).
Beth let a moment pass and then decided that Julie was done asking her questions. “So, I guess you should hop up here on the changing table.” She finally said.
Julie had a brief flash of butterflies in her stomach. But she quickly decided to just go with it and not to worry about it or over analyze it. ‘This is all part of the trying policy’ she told herself again, ‘Having Mrs. Oakman change me is just part of what wearing diapers is like.’
Beth studied the diaper and then remembered to grab some wipes before she started undoing the tapes. She handed a wipe to Julie, who took it awkwardly, and then undid the tapes.
“Can you lift your hips up for me?” she asked.
Julie arched her back and raised her bottom a few inches off the crinkly changing pad. The diaper come off and she lowered herself back down.
“Do you want to clean yourself off with the wipes? Or should I do that?” Beth asked.
Julie didn’t hesitate even though she hadn’t done this before. “I’ll do it.” She said quickly. She took the wipe and ran them over herself. While she was doing that Mrs. Oakman grabbed another diaper and opened it up.
“Up.”
Julie quickly complied and the diaper slid underneath her. Mrs. Oakman spread it out over her and tapped one side then the other into place. She examined her work and then said, “Just like riding a bike… you don’t forget. That better?”
Julie sat up and took a look at the job Mrs. Oakman had done. It was certainly better than her dad’s first effort.
“Yea, that’s much better. Thanks.”
“Can I ask you a question Julie?” Julie now felt the butterflies return. She worried that Mrs. Oakman might ask another of her probing embarrassing questions. There were so many questions she could ask right now. “Why were you not wearing any pants when you came into the kitchen?”
The butterflies disappeared. “Oh, my parents don’t want me wearing pants in the house right now. Mom says she needs to see my diaper so she can remember to check it and know when I need to be changed. She says it’s just so we all get used to me wearing diapers again.”
“Huh.” Mrs. Oakman replied, “I guess that makes sense. Well, in that case I guess you are all dressed and we should head back down stairs.”
The two of them quickly returned to the kitchen. Sally had a few more things to do with dinner and chatted with them while she worked away. Mrs. Oakman stayed until dinner went into the oven and then said she needed to head home herself.
The rest of the day went by quickly. Dad came home. Everyone ate dinner. Julie did her homework. Soon enough Julie was back on the changing table getting changed and put in her pajamas. Then it was bed time.

Just some minor criticism… The past tense of “tape” is “taped”; “tapped” is the past tense of “tap”

Re: The Trying Policy
Good chapter. I liked how you brought in the awkward moment of having Mrs. Oakman come in and change Julie. I also liked the way Julie was able to deal with it.
Looking forward to reading more of this.

Re: The Trying Policy
The pacing is very consistent now. The narrative is smoother. All is well. I must ask if there will be more focus on school though. It seems odd that you would use a high schooler during the school year but not use the setting. You don’t have to if you don’t feel you can make it work (I strongly recommend avoiding things you don’t think you can make work). Keep it up.

Re: The Trying Policy
Another very good chapter. I like the pace you have set. There are always new hurdles to get over and you have been keeping things realistic. I will be looking forward to more of the story.

Re: The Trying Policy
please continue!

Re: The Trying Policy
please continue this great story

Re: The Trying Policy
I wish that this would continue it was one of my favorite stories. But it is kind of funny how TheOneWhoSees said the pacing is consistent and now over a month and a half later there is no continuation

Re: The Trying Policy
Interesting story. It is realistic, which is something I value in a story. The emotions of all involved seem real. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing what Wednesday brings. At least one of her friends is going to find out before the week is over (diapers really are a hard thing to hind for any length of time), I look forward to seeing how that happens. Good luck.

Re: The Trying Policy
WEDNESDAY
Julie had one of those nights where you close your eyes, and then in what seems like 5 seconds, your alarm is waking you up. She actually thought for a brief second that something had gone wrong, but quickly figured out it was morning. Without much of a second thought she hopped out of bed and slowly shuffled her way downstairs.
Mom was already in the kitchen and was drinking a cup of coffee and reading the paper. “Morning mom.” Julie managed to say as she opened the fridge and took out the milk.
“How did you sleep honey?” Sally responded without even looking up from the paper.
“Oh, fine. Actually I don’t really even remember falling asleep. I was really out I guess.”
“Ok.” Sally replied. She was obviously really not paying much attention and was really taken by whatever she was reading.
Julie picked up on this. “Except when the aliens came at like 2 in the morning.”
“That’s good to hear… wait what?” Sally stopped reading and looked up and saw Julie stifling a laugh. “Very funny.”
“Just checking to see if you were even listening there mom.”
“Well, I’ll let you know that I was, although I was reading a very interesting article. Well interesting to me at least.” With that she stood up and walked over to Julie and pulled open the waist of the pajamas and looked at the diaper Julie had on underneath. “Did the aliens have anything to do with this wet diaper?”
Julie gave her mom a sarcastic look. “Ha ha mom, very funny.”
Up until her mom had said something, Julie hadn’t even remembered that she was wearing a diaper. It just hadn’t entered her mind. She waited until her mom turned around and then used her own hand to check the diaper. It was wet, her mom wasn’t kidding. Julie tried to remember when that might have happened, but didn’t remember anything other than getting into bed. ‘I guess I really am getting used to wearing diapers again.’ She thought to herself. ‘I just wet the bed. Although I am sure I wouldn’t have done that if I hadn’t been wearing a diaper. I probably woke up in the middle of the night and just don’t remember.’ Although as she had that final thought, another part of her wasn’t totally sure that was the case but she quickly dismissed that thought.
Julie finished making herself a bowl of cereal and started eating. Mom went back to her paper, but was finished before she was. “Hurry up and finish your cereal. I want to get you out of that wet diaper so you can shower since you didn’t shower last night.”
And that is exactly what happened. After she showered it was up on the changing table for a dose of nursery jelly and baby powder that was immediately followed by a dry diaper. “Ok, my job is done. Get yourself ready for school so I can drop you off.” Twenty minutes later Julie said goodbye and hopped out of the car and started walking towards her first class.
Wednesdays and Thursdays were different at Julie’s school. She only had half of her of classes each day, but the classes were twice as long. This was supposed to help certain classes, like Biology, do stuff that took longer to set up and get done. And Biology is where she started her day. The teacher explained that today they were doing an experiment, something about measuring how fast a plant uses water. Julie was partnered up with another girl, Sandy, who she knew from class but not much more. It was the first time they had worked together. They had to create 3 unique setups to simulate different conditions. Julie went to work on setting up a plant that was being blown by a fan while Sandy set up a plant that was supposed to sit under a bright lamp. The last plant was the control plant, and didn’t need much set up.
Julie was trying to measure out the exact amount of water for the plants roots to sit in when she first felt it. It came as a bit of a surprise and after a few seconds of thought Julie felt her stomach tighten up. “Oh no.” she muttered under her breath.
“What? Is everything ok?” Sandy asked.
“Oh, no. No, everything is fine. Sorry.” Julie replied. Apparently she needed to learn to mutter a with less volume.
“Oh, OK.” Sandy said as she went back to her own plant.
Of course, everything was fine as far as biology class was concerned. It was Julie’s own biology that was the problem. Julie had butterflies in her stomach because her body was telling her it needed to go to the bathroom, and it wasn’t going to be a “small job” as her mom had put it the other day. Julie started thinking and her thoughts started going in a bad direction.
‘Look, it’s one thing to wet my pants, well I mean wet my diaper, here at school. I mean, I doubt anybody can tell. But I can’t poop my… my diaper. People will be able to tell, I mean mom can smell it from the other side of the room.’
‘So what are you going to do?’ asked another voice inside her head.
Julie had to take a deep breath. ‘I’ll just hold it.’
‘We aren’t supposed to hold it and you know that.’
‘I know, I know. But I can’t do it here at school. I just can’t. People will be able to tell and then they will probably be able to figure out it’s me. And if they do then everyone will know that I wear diapers and that I crapped my pants in biology class! And I will never ever hear the end of it.’
‘We’ll see.’
Julie went back to work on the setting up the experiment. Sally had her part done pretty quickly, but Julie was having a bit of difficulty getting the fan set up in such a way that it didn’t blow the plant completely over when she turned it on. By the time she finally got it all set up, Sally had finished with the control plant. They started the experiment and dutifully recorded the data. The experiment was hardly shocking. Both the lamp plant and the wind plant used more water than the control plant.
When the class ended Julie walked over to where she and Becky and a few others usually met. They had a 15 minute break or so before the next class started. The girls chatted a bit, but Julie was really distracted. The need to go had not gone away and had in fact gotten worse. As the bell rang telling her and everyone else to head to class Julie had her first doubts about her plan.
Her next class was literature. The teacher, Mr. Shemkee, was nice, but boring as all get out. But happily they were actually watching a movie today. It was a low budget film about a couple of different Edgar Allen Poe stories. The first one was about The Raven.
It was when the bird first croaked out ‘Nevermore’ that Julie began to realize that her plan to hold it simply wasn’t going to work. The dark tale of sorrow and loss did nothing to help her mood and Julie began to get really worked up.
‘I can’t believe I did this to myself.’ She thought. ‘Mom made it totally clear that this is how it was going to be. And I knew it. And I intentionally chose to ignore it. Cross that bridge when we get there huh? Oh my gosh why did I agree to this? Why did I stick my head in the sand.’
That other voice in her head spoke up. ‘It’s not the first time you have done that you know?’
‘I know. And the worst part is that I think I knew I was doing it at the time. I mean, I really wanted to start wearing diapers, so I just refused to think about the bad part. And now I am paying the price. Oh my God, what have I done? I can’t believe this is happening.’
Julie started to really feel scared. And a bit angry with herself for letting this happen. For the first time she really wanted to not have to wear diapers, to be just a regular girl who could take the hall pass and leave to go the bathroom as she always had.
‘OK, OK. Look, get a hold of yourself. Freaking out isn’t going to make anything better here. Breathe! Calm down.’
Julie decided to do just that and tried to focus her attention on the movie. Maybe that would distract her. Julie looked and saw that the Raven was firmly lodged atop the chamber door, and despite the characters request, begging, fear and anger, it wasn’t going anywhere.
`Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!’ I shrieked upstarting -
`Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken! - quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!’
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.’
The movie ended and was immediately followed by another one, this time about The Tell Tale Heart. Julie thought about asking for the hall pass and getting it over, but she still could not bring herself to actually do it. Part of her knew that she was, again, sticking her head in the sand, but she felt like being stubborn. Sitting down also helped. All she could do was think about Becky and the rest of her friends and what they would say when if they found out she had pooped her pants.
Time passed and the end of the class approached. Julie had a bad feeling that once she stood up, she was going to be in trouble. The bell rang and people headed for the door, eager to get to lunch. Julie stood up and did the same, but with a lot less enthusiasm then everyone else.
Julie knew that Becky was on the other side of the school. Although she rarely used it, Julie’s locker was actually right around the corner from where she was. She decided to head that way. She got to her locker and realized she didn’t even remember the combination. It was written down somewhere in her notebook.
Julie made a decision. Becky wasn’t going to be here for a few minutes. And there wasn’t anything she could really do anyhow. Nobody really seemed to be paying attention. So she let go and gave in to the inevitable. It didn’t take long. Julie kind of zoned out for a moment, but quickly came back and knew what she had to do. She did her best to quickly walk over towards the nurses office. She just hoped that she would get there without running into anyone she knew.
Lucky enough, she was able to do so. She went into the office and turned down Ms. Barnard’s corridor. The chairs outside her door were mercifully empty. Julie forgot to knock and just tried the handle, which of course was locked. She was about to knock when she heard Ms. Barnard’s voice.
“Please take a seat. I’ll be with you in a moment.”
Julie looked at the seats and decided to stand. She just hoped that ‘a moment’ was really fast. She was terrified that somebody else was going to turn down the hallway and head this way. Julie couldn’t tell if it was obvious that she had a loaded diaper on or not, but she didn’t want to have to figure it out.
The good news was that nobody showed up. The bad news was that ‘a moment’ turned into 5 minutes or more. Eventually Julie heard a hand grab the door and turn the handle. Expecting it to be Ms. Barnard opening the door Julie started to head in. In so doing she almost ran into the girl who was trying to walk out.
'Woah, hey there." The girl stammered as she took a step back. Julie jumped back herself in surprise.
“Oh my gosh, I’m really sorry.” Julie replied. “I thought….”
The girl looked directly at Julie. A brief awkward second passed and then she smiled and shook her head. “No worries kid.” She waited another moment and then went on, “Excuse me.” She slide out of the door and past Julie and walked down the hallway. Julie watched her go.
The girl was obviously older than her. Probably a senior. She looked vaguely familiar, like Julie had maybe seen her somewhere before, but they definitely didn’t know each other. She had long wavy blond hair and an attractive figure. She wasn’t one of those skinny twig girls. She was tall and had a full figure and she might have been some kind of athlete since Julie saw some kind of wrap on the girls knee. She looked more like a soccer player than say a gymnast.
“Hi Julie.” Mr. Barnard broke her concentration.
For a split second Julie had forgotten about everything. Now it all came back and she all but ran over Ms. Barnard as she came into her office.
Ms. Barnard was her usual polite and relaxed self. After having Julie lay down on the bed, she went into the back room and came out with a new diaper in her hand. Julie had taken her pants off while she was back there, so her diaper was already exposed.
“Hmm, looks like this is a big job.” Ms Barnard stated.
“I’m sorry. I just co…”
Julie was cut off mid-sentence. “Don’t worry Julie, it’s no big deal.” As she was talking Ms. Barnard slid a trash can over towards the bed and grabbed a pair of gloves which were on her hands in no more than a couple of seconds. “I know it’s hard to believe, but there are actually worse things that I have had to deal with the diapers.”
Julie wasn’t squeamish about blood. But she was having a hard time believing what she was hearing. “What could be worse? Do you mean like organs or something?”
“Ha, no. I mean, I hardly have ever dealt with organs, but even in school when I saw them they were no big deal.” She continued to work while she talked and at this point had Julie’s diaper off and into the trash can. She grabbed a number of wipes. “You know what the worst thing I have ever had to deal with? Feet.”
“Feet!?”
“Yea, feet. Sometimes we would get homeless people who would come in, and they had not taken off their shoes in, well, a really long time. Parts of their feet were actually dying, or already dead. After smelling that, nothing really ever has seemed as bad as I once thought.”
Julie didn’t really know what to say.
Ms. Barnard shook her head at the memory and kind of winced. It was obviously she wasn’t making this up. “Anyways, since this isn’t like a sterile area I can actually use some air fresheners and stuff. I actually just got a new candle that I am using and I am a big fan of it. Clean cotton I think they call it.” She nodded in the direction of the sink and Julie saw a small jar that was actually a candle. It was lit.
“Huh, that probably a good idea.” Julie stated. “I mean, I doubt you get a lot of homeless people feet in here, but I can understand why you still would want it. I mean, with people like me and all.”
Ms. Barnard smiled and nodded her head. “Well, you are all clean, let’s just get this diaper on and you will be all set.”
When her pants were back on, Julie thanked Ms. Barnard who laughed a bit and said ‘you’re welcome.’ Julie opened the door (slowly this time) and saw an empty hallway, which she quickly walked down. She paused briefly at the door out of the office and took a deep breath. She hoped nobody who knew her would see her coming out, so she opened the door and snuck out as quickly as she could. The hallway was busy and she didn’t see anyone she knew. She started walking over to where her friends would be eating lunch.
Becky saw her and waved. Julie came up to the group and grabbed a chair. She started grabbing her lunch from her bag and hoped nobody would say anything about her being a bit late.
Becky shot that hope down instantly. “Where have you been? Did your class run late or something?”
Julie was nervous and scared. She wanted to cover her tracks, so she just made something up on the spot. “Uh, yea, we were doing some plant experiment and we were running late. It took forever to set up.”
“Huh, I thought you were the science whiz.” Becky said jokingly.
Julie knew Becky was only joking, but she decided it made sense to make the story even more believable. “Well, I was working with Sandy, and I guess she was having a hard time with the set up or something.”
Becky gave Julie a curious look, but then immediately shrugged it off and dropped the issue. The girls started eating, and then started talking. The rest of lunch went on as it always had. It wasn’t until later that Julie realized the major mistake she made with her little cover story.
In fact, the rest of the day went on much like it always had. Julie quickly forgot about the mini panic attack she had back there in class and her desire to not be in diapers. When her mom was changing her right before bed time, she remembered it briefly but decided not to say anything. Tomorrow was Thursday and that was going to be the end of this whole trying policy anyways, so Julie didn’t really see the point of saying anything. The whole thing at school turned out to not be such a big deal anyhow she told herself. It certainly wasn’t as bad as she had feared it would be. She knew she could easily handle one more day in diapers without any problems.

Re: The Trying Policy
Great addition hope to see more soon!

Re: The Trying Policy
I agree that it was a great addition. It was needed. In fact, I feel like having Becky or someone else find out on Thursday might spice up the story a bit so it doesn’t end dully. Either way, though, I’ve enjoyed this story very much.

Re: The Trying Policy

Famous last words. I’m looking forward to it.

Re: The Trying Policy
Two more school days in diapers - - - She started Friday after school!!!
Then there is the big question, what happens when the week is over. She tried it “Trying Policy”, but this involved more than just family. How are thing going to be explained. It might actually be easier to explain a teenager suddenly losing control than it would be two explain a week later regaining control. I am also not so convinced that . . . . (I better not say it and wait for the author to write the future of the story and not me making predictions).
Keep writing - - Her future is unclear.

Keep up the good work

No spoilers or anything, but the final chapter has been written a while ago, so I know where this is all going. I just gotta fill in the holes.

More please ;D

Re: The Trying Policy
It was a very good chapter. I honestly have little idea where this one is heading. I will just sit back and see where it takes me. God job so far. I look forward to more.

Still waiting for the final chapter in this wonderful story

Re: The Trying Policy
I’ve been off the forum for a few day now because of senior trip, but I got on just a moment ago and I saw this thread near the top with the little “new” symbol thingy and was like yaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy there’s finally a new chapter!!! (opened thread) crap… Just someone asking the author to continue. So I got all exited for nothing.

Re: The Trying Policy
Thursday
Julie woke up on Thursday morning in a wet diaper again. Unlike yesterday she noticed it as soon as she got out of bed. It was really soaked. And while she wasn’t really surprised, it did give her a moment’s pause. But Julie quickly dismissed any concerns she might have had. ‘It’s Thursday, so it’s not like I’m not going to be wearing diapers much longer’ she told herself.
Now there was something to think about.
Going back to panties instead of diapers… was that a good thing or a bad thing? Julie hadn’t really given a whole lot of thought to the idea of this whole trying policy coming to an end. On the plus side, she had to admit that never having to repeat yesterday’s pooping at school incident was definitely a good thing. On the other hand, it hadn’t been that big of a deal and Julie had to admit that she really had blown it out of proportion. ‘I mean, yea, it certainly isn’t something I would want to do again, but it wasn’t the end of the world either’ she thought to herself.
Julie started to realize that a part of her wasn’t excited about this ending. It was hard to admit and come to terms with, but she had actually really gotten use to wearing diapers and was in fact pretty happy with the whole situation. ‘I mean, I wanted to try this to see what it was like and I didn’t really know what to expect, but I guess I thought it would be fun or I wouldn’t have wanted to try it.’ Julie had to admit that she certainly was a long ways away from comfortable about pooping her pants all the time, but other than that, wearing diapers was actually pretty cool. ‘I mean, it really feels nice to have a diaper on.’ Julie thought to herself. ‘It’s comforting and I really enjoy it. And while wet diapers were not fun, they really aren’t a big deal. And once I get changed, that new diaper always feels good. Not having to go to the bathroom during TV and movies or having to get up in the middle of the night is a real plus too.’ Julie even thought that she was kind of going to miss talking with Ms. Barnard at school.
At the same time, a voice in the back of her head reminded her that girls her age really shouldn’t be wearing diapers. It just was not normal. And although a few people knew about it already, most people still didn’t. Julie thought about the reaction of certain people if they found out that she had started wearing diapers again. How would some of her friends react if they found out she pooped her pants? It was not a comforting thought at all.
Julie hopped out of bed and walked over towards the mirror. She pulled down her pajama bottoms and kicked them off. Her diaper was really soaked and had swollen up a bit. She took a look at her lower half in the mirror. It was kind of funny, but she liked the way she looked with her diaper. 'Well, get a good look now ‘cause this isn’t going to be happening much longer. This is my last day in diapers,’ Julie thought to herself. And somewhat half-heartedly she added ‘and that’s probably for the best.’
Knowing that somebody was going to be checking her diaper soon anyway, Julie left her PJs on the floor and headed down stairs to grab some breakfast. When she got there she found her mom already in the kitchen.
“Morning sweetie.”
“Morning mom.”
Sally had been down there for a bit and was just finishing up a bagel. Thinking that that sounded pretty good, Julie started the process of slicing a bagel in half and grabbing the cream cheese from the fridge.
“Looks like somebody has a wet diaper and needs to be changed.”
“Yea, I wet the bed again last night I think.” Julie said without really thinking about it. She was kind of focused on cutting her bagel.
“You wet the bed? You mean, like, I need to wash your sheets?”
Julie realized her mom was actually surprised a bit and wasn’t just playing around like she seemed to often be doing when it came time to dealing with diapers that needed to be changed.
“No, the bed is fine. I didn’t mean I actually wet the bed. I meant like, I wet the bed, but I was wearing a diaper.”
“Oh, I see.” Sally said slowly. “Well, I guess it is a good thing you were in a diaper then. Well, hurry up and finish your bagel and we can get you changed.”
Julie soon fished up her breakfast and headed upstairs with her mom. They went straight to her room and without a word Julie hopped up on the changing table. Her mom came over and grabbed a new diaper from underneath where Julie was laying.
“Whoa.” Sally said in genuine surprise. She crouched down and started rummaging around the shelves of the changing table. “Huh,” Sally muttered somewhat questioningly, and quickly followed that up with an “Ahh” that seemed to say she answered her own question. Finally Sally stood up again, shrugged a tiny bit and mutter “Oh well.”
Julie sat up slightly and looked at her mom. “What was that all about?”
Sally gently pushed Julie back flat on the table and started undoing the tapes on her diaper, “Oh, I just realized that I’m going to have to go buy more diapers for you. I’m almost out already. I really thought I had more down there but then I remembered that I had to send some to school.”
Being pretty early in the morning still, Julie wasn’t thinking particularly quickly yet. As such, it took a few seconds for the implications of what her mom had said to really sink in. It suddenly dawned up her that this actually might be significant.
“Wait, what do you mean? Are we actually out?” Julie tone implied no small part of concern, although if you asked her she couldn’t tell you why.
“Yea, this is the last one. Don’t worry, I’ll just run and grab some more while you are at school.”
Julie’s mind started working. Her mom pulled the wet diaper out from under her and started cleaning her off with the baby wipes, but Julie wasn’t paying the least bit of attention. Her mind was elsewhere.
“Wait, how many diapers did you buy me last time mom?”
Sally paused in her cleaning duties and looked curiously at her daughter. “I don’t know, I just bought a box. I don’t remember exactly how many diapers were in there though. Why?”
“And you’re going to buy another box?” Julie asked.
“That’s what I just said isn’t it?”
“Well, yea, but I mean, its Thursday right? If one box lasted until Thursday and you go and buy another box, won’t that be a lot more than we need?”
“Oh, I see what you mean. Yea you are right about that.” Sally scrunched her nose and thought for a second. “Well, not much we can really do about it I guess.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I think I told you this already, but I can’t just go out and buy a small pack of diapers for you. They don’t sell diapers in your size like that. So I am just going to have to go buy another box.”
Nobody said anything for a second or two. Julie wasn’t sure she understood exactly what this all meant. She remembered her mom’s words about if she bought the diapers, Julie had to wear them. Did this mean that she wasn’t going to stop wearing diapers as soon as she had originally thought? Is that what her mom meant? The look of confusion on her face must have been really obvious and her mom saw it.
“Like I said honey there really isn’t anything we can do about it. Look, I can see what you are thinking. Yes, you’re going to have to stay in diapers for a little bit longer.”
Julie wasn’t sure what to think. Was this a good thing or a bad thing? Her voice reflected a bit of uncertainty and confusion, “But I thought I only had to wear them for a week. I thought that was what we agreed to.”
As soon as she said it, Julie wondered if it was such a good idea to have mentioned it. The more she thought about it, the more she realized that the idea of staying in diapers a few more days wasn’t really such a bad thing. She remembered thinking about this just a short while ago in her room. ‘I mean, other than the pooping part, I kind of like it. And it’s not like I am really ever going to get to do this again really. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that.’
Sally looked down at her daughter. The look on her face gave the impression that she had not anticipated Julie’s reaction. “Is somebody ready for their week in diapers to be over? I hadn’t thought of that. I never expected you to enjoy being put in diapers again, but I was kind of getting the impression that…”
“No.” Julie cut her mom off, surprising both of them with how loud she said no. “No, I just meant that I thought we were only going to do this for a week.”
Julie watched her mom’s reaction. It looked pretty clear that mom was not exactly certain what that “no” had meant. Was that a no, she wasn’t ready for her week in diapers to end, or was that a no, she was ready for it to end? ‘Heck, do I even know which no I meant?’
Sally quickly moved past the look of confusion. Either she had figured out what no meant, or she decided to not bother trying to. Her face changed back to the normal business as usual look.
“Well, actually if you remember the rules I laid out,” Sally started saying as she began spreading out a clean diaper, “we agreed to put you in diapers for at least one week.” Sally paused to slide the new diaper under Julie and bring the front up through her legs. “And well, the reality is that is has not been a week yet. It’s close, but we just don’t have enough diapers to get through the week without buying more. I can’t buy anything less than about a week’s worth of diapers. So,” Sally stopped to pull open the diaper tapes and stick them in place, “The bottom line here is that you’re just going to have to keep wearing diapers for now.”
Julie nodded her head and tried to smile. She really felt a funny feeling in her stomach, but for the life of her she couldn’t tell if it was happiness or nervousness. She knew that ‘a while’ was actually going to mean pretty much another week. In fact, Julie did some basic math, it was actually an unsolvable equation. There were no doubt a lot of diapers at school, so she wasn’t really able to be sure exactly how long one box would last. But she was able to determine that, assuming her rate of use stayed the same, that a box of diapers would last at least as long, and probably longer (depending on how many diapers the school had) as this past box. In a nut shell, Julie realized that her time in diapers wasn’t even half over yet.
The rest of the day went by quickly. School was school, diapers or not and Thursday’s lab classes were less interesting than Wednesdays. Julie was actually happy to head to the nurses office during her history class since they were watching a boring movie about the middle ages.
At the end of lunch, Julie and her friends were just getting up from their lunch spot and cleaning up. Julie had just throw her napkin in the trash can when she looked up and made eye contact with a girl who was about to pitch her trash into the same can. The girl smiled and gave her a quick nod of the head.
‘Hey, hows it going?’ she said as she dropped her trash into the can. Julie could tell the girl recognized her, but the feeling was not mutual. She did seem familiar, but she couldn’t place her. The girl didn’t stay to talk, and just turned around and rejoined her group of friends.
“Who was that?” Becky asked.
“I’m not sure.” Julie replied.
“You didn’t know her? She seemed like she knew you.”
“I know right? She looks familiar though.”
Linda, a friend who often ate with them spoke up. “Are you all talking about Kate?”
“Kate?” Sally and Becky said in unison.
Linda looked at Julie. “That girl that just said hi to you Julie?” Julie nodded. “Yea, that’s Kate Parson. She plays volleyball with me. Well, not exactly with me. She’s on the varsity team (Linda was a freashman). She like the best player on the team. I think she might even be getting a scholarship or something when she goes to college next year.”
It dawned on Julie where she had seen her. Without a second thought she asked “Did she get hurt recently?”
Linda paused. “What? Not that I know of. Well, I guess yesterday some girl and her bumped into each other and she like bruised her knee or something. But she was at practice this morning and seemed fine. How did you know that though? I thought you said you didn’t know her?”
Julie realized that she had opened a door best left closed. “Oh, I don’t know her, I just happened to see her yesterday with some kind of wrap or something on her knee.”
“It seemed like she knew you.” Linda said.
“Yea, I’m not sure how though.”
Lucky for Julie the girls dropped it since everyone had to get back to class. Julie of course had figured out that the girl, Kate, was the one she had all but run over trying to get into Ms. Barnard’s office yesterday. And apparently Kate had not forgotten Julie.

Re: The Trying Policy
Glad to see an update! It was a good chapter with a couple plot twists that extend the story further, which I’m happy for!

Re: The Trying Policy
keep it up!

Please continue ;D

Re: The Trying Policy
For some reason, this chapter leaves a 60’s announcer voice in my head: “Will Julie resolve her feelings about diapers? How does Sally feel about her diaper daughter? And what’s up with Kate Parson, and what does she know? Tune in for next week’s exciting episode ofThe Trying Policy!”
Silliness aside, I’m loving the story. I like your presentation of Julie’s internal thoughts and her ambiguity about the trial; the “No” where even Julie is not sure what she meant is brilliant.

Re: The Trying Policy
Another very good chapter. It would seem as though Julie Will be in diapers for more than expected. I believe that this time will be much more than originally expected. I thought the end was also interesting, Kate could be bringing a hole new twist to the story. I do look forward to reading more.

Re: The Trying Policy
looking forward to the next update.
