Content: It was a lovely summers day in July and Sophie had taken the day off work as it was the last day of school for 6 weeks and the last day her eldest daughter was attending the Oakwood Primary School so wanted to walk her to school one last time before she went off to secondary school. She didn’t like the fact that her new job made her go into the office more often so meant she often had to use the schools breakfast club and after school clubs and felt terrible that both her children were in “wrap around care”. But today she got to take them normal time and pick them up straight from school. If the weather stayed nice like the forecast said it should she planned to take the kids to the park after school to celebrate the start of the summer holidays.
She woke up from a light doze as she had just drifted off to sleep after her husbands alarm went off 30 minutes earlier. She rolled over and turned the alarm off on her phone as she heard her husband pottering around downstairs before going to start his shift as a bus driver for the day. She quickly threw off the covers and ran downstairs in her PJs to give her husband a kiss goodbye. The nespresso machine had just finished dispensing his morning coffee into his travel mug. He picked it up, screwed on the lid, gave his wife a kiss on the check. “Drive safe” she called out to him as he left the front door and climbed into his car. She decided to make herself a coffee before waking up the children. After all they didn’t have to rush to get to breakfast club this morning.
She took her coffee upstairs and started getting dressed. She had brought a new pack of underwear when she was shopping the other day so opened up the pack and slipped on her briefs before selecting a white bra and some 3/4 length jeans and a white top. She checked out her outfit in the mirror and decided everything looked well and went to wake up the kids. She knocked on her daughter’s door first. “Katie time to get up” Sophie said as she entered her daughter’s room. Katie started to stir and while rubbing her eyes thanked her mum for waking her up. “What would you like for breakfast darling?” Her mother asked. “Just a bowl of honey flakes please mum” Katie requested. “Ok start getting dressed, looks like it should be a hot one today so maybe a summer dress.” Her mum told her as she left the room and went to knock on her son James’s room. She knocked and entered. “Wake up James” she called out as she entered his room and went straight for the dresser. James was a bit more groggy and unresponsive so she repeated her words before hitting the light switch to fill the room with bright light. That did the trick as James finally responded to her “ Ok ok I’m up” he said. Sophie laid out his school uniform, a blue polo top and grey shorts with black socks and red pants. “I’ve left out your uniform for you to get dressed in. What would you like for breakfast James?” “Jam on toast please mum”
“Ok see you downstairs in 10 minutes please darling” and with that Sophie made her way downstairs to start the children’s breakfast.
Katie was the first one down wearing the school uniform summer dress, a sky blue and white checked pattern, and white ankle socks. Her mum had just finished pouring the milk over her cereal as she helped herself to a glass of orange juice from the bottle in the fridge. She gave her daughter a kiss on the top of her head as she carried her breakfast into the living room to watch some morning cartoons. Sophie turned around and put two slices of bread in the toaster and got the jam out the fridge. As the bread popped up she placed it on the plate and spread the jam on. She poured a glass of orange juice for James and was about to shout out that he should be ready by now but then she realised he had joined his sister in the living room watching cartoons. She handed him his breakfast and then set about making her own before joining her children in the living room. The children had put bluey on from Disney plus. Although it was aimed at younger children the whole family still enjoyed it. After 3 episodes everyone had finished their breakfast and sided their plate and glasses. They all got their shoes on and left the house to start the walk to school. It was only a 10 minute walk but Sophie enjoyed reminiscing with Katie about all the fun times they have had making this journey for the last 6 years and all the teachers she’s had at the school. The time flew by and before Sophie knew it she was at the gates of the school. She gave Katie a big hug and a kiss in the playground and tears started to form in her eyes as she watched Katie bounce off to class for last time in primary school. She took James round to his class teacher and wished him a good last day in year 4. As she started the walk home tears were streaming down her face. She couldn’t believe her daughter was growing up so fast. She got home and decided to just relax for a few hours till it was time to pick the kids up from school.
After watching all the daytime tv she never gets to see it was finally time to leave the house and pick up the kids from school. As the weather had held and it was a lovely day she decided she was definitely going to take the kids to the park to play and unwind. With that in mind she grabbed a bag of spare clothes for James. Although it had been a good couple of months since his last accident it was a force of habit for Sophie now. She always felt like it was better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. A philosophy she wished her parents had when she was growing up. She grabbed a T-shirt, a pair of shorts and made sure the pull up that was in the bag was still there. She decided that if he made it through the 6 week school holidays without any accidents she could do away with the just incase bag.
She made the short 10 minute walk to the school and got there just as they were opening the gate to let the parents in. There was still about 10 minutes left of the school day but most of the parents were there already. She went to James’s class to pick him up from the teacher knowing that Katie would meet them there. James’s class came out quickly and James was one of the first in line so he said good bye to his teacher and went over to his mum. As he was so quick Katie hadn’t met up with them yet so Sophie and James went to where the year 6 classes are let out to go find her. They found her in the middle of a group hug with all her friends in tears as they were all going to different secondary schools. Sophie and James let them hug it out before they realised all of them were going to the park so it wasn’t the final goodbye just yet. She grabbed her P.E kit bag that they were being sent home with as it wasn’t needed anymore and she went over to her mum and brother and gave them a big hug and a kiss and they all went off to the park with Katie and James telling their mum all about their last day of school.
When they got to the park the two kids went off and started playing with their friends in separate groups and Sophie went and sat on a bench near the playground. After about 30 minutes of playing James comes running over to his mum. “Mum, I really need a wee, can you take me to the toilet?” “I’ve got all the bags and everything here James. They are only over there, they are individual cubicles. I’ll keep an eye out and come back to me once you’re done so I know you’re all ok please.” “Ok Mum”. Sophie watched her son enter one of the cubicles and immediately walk straight back out. He did that for all 6 of the cubicles before deciding on the 5th one he tried. Sophie chuckled and thought of the state the public toilets must be in! She tried keeping one eye on the toilet block and one eye on Katie playing with her friends. However she must have got caught up in watching Katie’s game of tag with her friends as she was startled by James appearing next to her. “Oh hi kiddo. Do you want a drink and ice cream?” “Yes please mum!” James answered rather enthusiastically. “Ok well grab your sister and get 3 ice creams and 3 cans of coke please” Sophie said as she handed him a £20 note. James ran off into the playground and found his sister who excused herself from her game with her friends and went off to the snack hut to buy the treats with her brother.
Katie and James sat down next their mum and pass her the ice cream and coke that she wanted. “Thanks kids” she said as they also gave her the change. “Toilets not in a good state hey James?” Sophie asked.
“They were disgusting!” James mocked vomiting “not a single cubicle was clean. I just got in and out as quick as I could” he said as he took another lick of his ice cream. “Talking of toilet stuff mum, do I still need that bag bringing everywhere?” James pointed at the bag with his change of clothes. “I did think about that as I packed it this afternoon. I know it’s been a while since it was last needed but you know I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. However having said that, if it is not needed during the 6 week holidays then I think we can safely say it won’t be needed again” his mother said smiling at him. James wished his mum would stop carrying it but was relieved to know and end was in sight with it. “Ok mum, thanks”. Katie was worried about the state of the toilets as she could feel the growing urge to relieve her bladder but decided she would try and hold it till they got home. With that in mind she only drank half of her can of coke before running off to play tag with her friends again.
Sophie was enjoying the early evening sun and watching her kids have fun playing with their friends. She glanced at her watch and was amazed at the time. It was now 5:30pm. The kids had been playing for nearly two hours in the park. Sophie started to gather her things and all the kids bags together to get ready to leave. She called out to the kids to come over as it was time to go home. They both excused themselves from their games. James was over by the swings and came straight to his mum. Katie was halfway up the tower next to the climbing wall. She was relieved to hear her mum say they were going home as her bladder was putting more pressure on her. She decided to jump down from the tower and as she landed she must have lost concentration on holding her bladder and before she realised what was happening the flood gates had opened and she was full on wetting herself. She stood there frozen in fear that she had just wet herself infront of everyone in the park. As she regained her composure she sprinted as fast as she could to her mum with tears streaming down her face.
“What’s wrong honey?” Her mum asked having not seen the embarrassing situation play out. But one look at her daughter told her everything she needed to know. “It’s ok come with me darling. James stay here with all the bags ok. Don’t move, we will be back as soon as we possibly can but it may be a while” she grabbed James just in case bag and Katie’s P.E bag and led her daughter to the toilet cubicles. “Mum please can’t we just sort it out at home. I don’t want to walk through the park with everyone knowing what I’ve done. It’s so embarrassing mum please” Katie begged her mum while still sobbing. “Katie darling it’s ok, accidents happen. I’m not angry or upset but what kind of mother would I be if I left daughter in wet clothes when I had a change of clothes to change her into.” Sophie said staying as calm and loving as she could. She knew how her daughter felt from her past experiences as a child growing up and was determined not to make the same mistakes her parents did. Katie knew her mother was right and opened up an available cubicle.
The stench of stale urine hit their noses instantly and dirty discarded toilet paper was left in a pile next to the toilet. Sophie couldn’t believe the state people left these toilets in. As they both entered the room Sophie got straight on with business not wanting to spend a second longer in this room than was necessary. “Right, take all your clothes off darling I’ll get a bag out to put all the wet ones in” she opened up James’s bag and got a nappy sack bag out and the pull up. As Katie caught a glimpse of what her mother got out the bag she cried even more. “Please mum not that! It was an accident I’m sorry it won’t happen again.” Katie was starting to get hysterical now. “I need you to calm down Katie. You know the rules, you’ve seen it with James and you’ve seen the results I’ve had with him following the rules. It would be unfair on him if I didn’t enforce the same rules with you that I do for him. I don’t want to hear any more arguments about it. The sooner we get this done the sooner we can be out of this horrible room” she gave her daughter a stern look, placed the pull up on the top of the bag and held out the plastic nappy sack bag for Katie to put her wet dress and knickers into. Katie wanted to argue back but knew she wouldn’t win this battle here. She put all her wet clothes in the bag and looked at the pull up waiting for her. It was a spider man aged 4-7 Drynite that was meant for her younger brother. Although he was now 9 the last time he had wet himself was just after his 9th birthday and these were left over from when he was a regular user of them. She hoped that it wouldn’t fit. “Mum I don’t think it will even fit me” she said hoping to make her mum realise it wouldn’t work. “It might be a bit tight but it will do for now” her mum said clearly not budging on the matter. “Right let’s get this on and then you can put on your P.E kit and we will make our way home” Sophie held out the pull up stretching out the sides waiting for her daughter to step into them so she could pull them all the way up. As she slid them up it was a bit of a struggle but they managed to get them on in the end. Katie the pulled on the white cotton T-shirt with her school logo on and black shorts. “Thank you for not making a fuss over this Katie” her mum said as she gave her a hug. Sophie turned and opened the door as Katie let out a little sigh as she prepared to step out into the world wearing a pull up for the first time since she was a toddler.

Been on lates, not starting till 4pm and finishing at 2am so after I take the boy to school I just sit there in my wet nappy thinking of how to progress the story.
Also now I’m using AI to help with the editing that process is so much quicker.

This is silly and I don't like when others make suggestions to stories, but I'd love to see Tesco fred n flo size 9 nappy pants make an appearance, there the same size as the magics pants, so should fit Katie fine, and would save her mum a fair bit cash on the run up to Bulgaria.

I didn’t know Fred and Flo went up to size 9. Do you know what they are like?
You have put an idea in my head about Tesco though and their junior nappy plus product.
I chose Bulgaria as that’s where we had our first family holidays with my little boy. Stayed at an all inclusive TUI hotel in sunny beach but got to admit we didn’t explore the area that much around the hotel.
